Middle East crisis: Tinubu assures Gulf States of Nigeria’s support, urges global peace

President Bola Tinubu has expressed Nigeria’s solidarity with several Gulf and Middle Eastern countries affected by escalating tensions linked to the United States/Israel conflict with Iran, calling for restraint and renewed global cooperation to safeguard peace and stability.
The President made the remarks on Thursday at the State House, Abuja, where he received Letters of Credence from ambassadors and high commissioners from several countries, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
He said Nigeria stands firmly with affected nations in the Gulf region and will continue to support global efforts aimed at peace.
“Let me first of all congratulate all of you and use this opportunity to say that the Federal Republic of Nigeria expresses its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the face of the recent attacks and say that we will always strive for peace and stability across the world,” Tinubu said.
He added that peace remains central to global survival, stressing: “The world needs tranquillity, peace and love. We share that solidarity with all of you in that region.”
The President also used the occasion to reaffirm Nigeria’s broader diplomatic approach, noting that the country remains committed to strengthening partnerships for mutual benefit and global stability.
“Nigeria values the bonds of friendship we share. We remain fully committed to deepening these ties, for the mutual prosperity and progress of our peoples,” he said.
Tinubu further emphasised Nigeria’s readiness to collaborate on global challenges, including insecurity, economic reforms, and climate change.
