Minna Airport to begin operations in April – Governor Bago

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, is set to commence air transport operations in April 2025, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has announced.

Governor Bago made this announcement on Wednesday, while hosting Seyi Tinubu, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande, and the CEO of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority, Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo, at the Government House in Minna.

He revealed that commercial flights will initially operate daily between Lagos and Minna, with plans to extend services to Kano by June.

The governor also disclosed that the airport will have a fleet of ten aircraft, including two cargo planes designated for shipping goods to Brazil and Saudi Arabia.

Describing the airport as the first of its kind in Nigeria, Bago emphasized that its cargo and Hajj terminal would serve as a major economic boost for the state and improve livelihoods.
