Embattled pageant contestant Chidinma Adetshina has received an invitation to participate in the 2024 edition of Miss Universe Nigeria. This follows her withdrawal from the Miss South Africa competition due to controversies surrounding her eligibility.
The 23-year-old announced that she chose to exit the Miss South Africa pageant for the safety of herself and her family.
In a statement, the organizers of Miss Universe Nigeria extended the invitation, highlighting the unique opportunity for Adetshina to represent her father’s homeland on an international stage.
“We believe that your journey in the world of pageantry is far from over, and there are still numerous opportunities for you to showcase your talent, grace, and beauty,” the statement read. “As a Nigerian by heritage, we would like to formally invite you to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant. This is an opportunity to represent your father’s native land on an international stage, and we believe you would be an outstanding contender.”
The organizers encouraged Adetshina to consider this opportunity, emphasizing that the competition celebrates the strength, intelligence, and diversity of Nigerian women. “Should you wish to participate, simply respond to this invitation, and we will be delighted to guide you through the next steps. We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you continue your journey in pageantry with the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant.”
Chidinma Adetshina was born in Soweto, South Africa, to a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother.
