Abandoned baby girl with note bearing her name, mother’s name rescued in Lagos

A baby girl was on Sunday rescued by good Samaritans in Lagos after she was found abandoned by her mother.
Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this on his Twitter handle, said a note was dropped by the mother, stating the baby’s name, date of birth and her mother’s first name.
Hundeyin tweeted: “But why? Early this morning, a baby girl was abandoned. Pinned to her was a note stating her name, date of birth and mother’s first name.

“Some good Samaritans thronged the police station to adopt her. There are processes for that.
“But why throw a child way?”
