MTN Nigeria total unclaimed dividend rises to N612.5bn in 2024
MTN Nigeria Communication Plc has disclosed that its total amount of unclaimed dividends outstanding as at December 31 , 2024 increased to N612.5 billion from N1.38 billion in 2023.
The telecommunication giant in its audited result and accounts for full year ended December 31, 2024 said in line with Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) guidelines, Coronation Registrars Limited returned to the Group the sum of N287.7 million unclaimed dividend during the year in 2024 from N381.5 million reported in 2023.
From the audited results, the company announced that replenishment notices from registrars amounting to N525.9 million were received and honoured during the period from N657.5 billion reported in 2023.
MTN Nigeria Communication since 2023 financial year has not declared dividend payout to shareholders, attributable to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange devaluation policies.
The director-general of SEC, Dr. Emomotimi Agama had vowed to ensure the settlement of unclaimed dividends, which stood at N215 billion as at March 2024.
