NAF conducts precision airstrikes, eliminates terrorists in Yobe, Borno states

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully neutralised more than 25 terrorists in a coordinated night air operation conducted in Bula, Yobe State, and the Banki axis of Borno State.
This was disclosed in an official statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.
According to the statement, the air interdiction mission was carried out on Wednesday, September 18, following credible intelligence provided by ground forces operating in the area.
A combined force package comprising Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms and strike aircraft was deployed to monitor terrorist activities. The ISR assets tracked multiple groups of terrorists in the vicinity north of Banki, enabling the coordination of real-time updates between the air and ground components.
“The strike aircraft engaged identified targets through three successive precision strikes on known movement routes and assembly points of the terrorists, effectively neutralising over 25 fighters,” the statement read.
Post-strike surveillance confirmed that ground troops maintained their defensive positions with no additional threats observed in the vicinity.
Air Commodore Gabkwet noted that the successful operation underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s continued commitment to supporting joint operations, degrading terrorist capabilities, and enhancing security in the North-East region.
He further reiterated the Air Force’s resolve to maintain the tempo of operations aimed at restoring lasting peace and stability across affected areas.
