National Librarian, Anunobi commends Abiodun’s strides on infrastructure

The National Librarian and Chief Executive Officer of the National Library of Nigeria, Prof. Chinwe Anunobi, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for the ongoing massive infrastructural development of the state.
Prof. Anunobi who made this known in Abeokuta when she paid a courtesy call on the governor in his office, noted that the level of work done by the present administration on the Sagamu-Abeokuta road is of high quality and highly commendable.
The National Librarian who further noted that she was also in the state to thank the governor for being very passionate about education and the development of library service in the state, expressed her joy at the strategic location the state government gave to the National Library for the construction of a branch of the library in the state capital.
“I came here, I saw and I was humbled. I didn’t expect a smooth ride, but I had a smooth one through the interchange into the state capital. It’s been marvelous and the hospitality is wonderful.
“I am here to appreciate the governor for what he has done, especially the strategic place for the establishment of the prototype branch of the Library of the National Library of Nigeria,” she said.
In his remarks, Governor Abiodun who noted that his administration is delighted with the construction of the National Library in the state capital, added that the choice of the location was to ensure accessibility to the library.
Abiodun informed his visitor that his administration is presently using technology to drive its educational sector and revenue generation through the harmonisation of revenues and taxes, as well as being able to block leakages.
He added that technology has also made it easy for his administration to track the state of infrastructure across the state, saying that students in the state now have a Learner Identification Numbers which makes it easy to track the records of students.
