NCAA aims to modernize aviation processes, launches DATR E-Portal

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has unveiled the Directorate of Air Transport Regulation (DATR) Electronic Portal (E-Portal), a groundbreaking initiative designed to streamline aviation processes and align with international best practices.

The launch event, held at the NCAA headquarters in Abuja, was presided over by the Acting Director-General, Capt. Chris Najomo. In his address, Capt. Najomo described the E-Portal as a single-window platform aimed at modernizing the operations of the Directorate of Air Transport Regulations.

He emphasized its role in enhancing service delivery and creating a seamless electronic interface for stakeholders in Nigeria’s aviation sector.

“The E-Portal ushers in a new era of digital aviation processes characterized by innovation, efficiency, competence, and productivity,” Capt. Najomo said, urging stakeholders to adopt the platform to unlock its transformative benefits.

Mrs. Olayinka Babaoye-Iriobe, Director of DATR, outlined the portal’s features, including process optimization, data centralization, real-time tracking, and improved transparency. She highlighted its potential to foster innovation and improve operational efficiency for all aviation stakeholders.

The initiative received widespread acclaim from industry leaders. Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines, praised the NCAA’s leadership, describing Capt. Najomo’s appointment as “putting a round peg in a round hole.”

He noted that the E-Portal reflects the NCAA’s commitment to innovation, significantly enhancing the ease of doing business in the aviation industry.

Similarly, Mr. Allen Onyema, CEO of Air Peace, lauded Capt. Najomo’s dedication to transparency and global aviation standards.

“This initiative reflects the NCAA’s renewed dedication to fostering a business-friendly and efficient regulatory environment,” Onyema said.
