NCAA hosts aviation security symposium, reaffirms commitment to safer skies

The Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo, on Tuesday hosted top aviation stakeholders at a high-level symposium focused on enhancing aviation security across Nigeria.

The event, held under the theme “Fundamentality of Aviation Security in Achieving the Safe-Skies Goal,” brought together key players in the sector, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, mni; Managing Director/CEO of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku; former NCAA DG, Capt. Harold Demuren; as well as heads of aviation and security agencies, and senior officials from NCAA and FAAN.

Delivering a goodwill message, FAAN MD Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku emphasized the Authority’s steadfast commitment to aviation security, describing it as a fundamental pillar for ensuring safe, secure, and efficient air travel throughout the country.

The symposium served as a platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and explore innovative solutions to boost security measures within Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem.
