New MD/CEO assumes office at Orile-Agege General Hospital
A renowned Consultant Opthalmologist and Medical Director (MD), Mushin General Hospital, Dr. Oluyemi Taiwo, has assumed duty as Medical Director/CEO Orile-Agege General Hospital.
Taiwo, who was appointed Medical Director of Mushin General Hospital in July 2024, was the former Deputy Medical Director of the Orile-Agege General Hospital (OAGH).
According to Dr. Taiwo, “My recent appointment is a home call as I was the Consultant Opthalmologist of Orile Agege General Hospital and Deputy Medical Director of the hospital between December, 2011 and July 2024. I am part of OAGH’s vision from inception and more than glad to be back to the hospital”.
While receiving the handover note from her predecessor, Dr. Sola Pitan, she urged the management and staff of Orile Agege General Hospital to give her more than the support given to her predecessor, who has been her mentor, promising to look into every constructive criticism and suggestion with open arms.
“I appreciate everyone for welcoming me back to Orile-Agege General Hospital and look forward to collaborating with everyone to take the hospital to greater heights”, she added.
In his remarks, the outgoing Medical Director/CEO of Orile Agege General Hospital, Dr. Sola Pitan, appreciated the management and staff of Orile Agege General Hospital for the support and various achievements since his assumption as the Medical Director of the Hospital.
“These various achievements recorded in the hospital are through your support, and I want everyone to extend such support to my successor, Dr. Oluyemi Taiwo, who was very supportive when she was the Deputy Medical Director of the hospital before she was appointed the Medical Director of Mushin General Hospital. I am sure the people of Mushin would equally miss her, considering various achievements she has also recorded in that hospital”, Pitan said.
Dr. Oluyemi Taiwo started her career as a Resident Doctor at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) from August 2005 to September 2011. She proceeded to Isolo General Hospital and Orile Agege General Hospital as a Consultant Ophthalmologist between December 2011 and April 2017.
Thereafter, she became the Head Consultant Ophthalmologist at Orile Agege General Hospital between April 2017 and April 2021, and was subsequently elevated to the post of Director, Clinical Services and Deputy Medical Director at the same facility.
She proceeded to General Hospital, Mushin as Medical Director on the 9th of July, 2024 and on the 18th of June 2025, she assumed duty as the Medical Director/CEO of Orile-Agege General Hospital (OAGH).
