Super Eagles coach Eric Sekou Chelle is set to meet with the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) soon, a top official of the football governing body has revealed.

The meeting, according to reports, is deemed necessary for the newly appointed coach and the committee, headed by Augustine Eguavoen, to deliberate on technical matters.

Notably, the Malian tactician and the committee are expected to discuss strategies for the crucial remaining 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

During the session, the former Malian national team goalkeeper is anticipated to present his plans for reviving Nigeria’s faltering World Cup qualifying campaign.

“Yes, he (Chelle) will meet with the Technical Committee upon his return to the country,” an NFF official disclosed.

The source added that the coach plans to spend more time in Nigeria to monitor players in the domestic league and build familiarity with his team.

The former Malian national team coach traveled to Europe shortly after his unveiling, aiming to engage with several foreign-based Super Eagles players and brief them on his strategy for the World Cup qualifiers, which resume in March.

Nigeria currently sits second from bottom in Group C of the qualifiers, with three points from four matches.

Meanwhile, Rwanda, South Africa, and Benin Republic share the top spot in the group, each with seven points. However, Rwanda leads the group due to a superior goal difference.
