Nigeria’s senior women’s football team, the Super Falcons, will receive full support from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in their quest to win the 2025 African Women’s Nations Cup (WAFCON).

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, while giving the assurance, stated that the football governing body would ensure the team is fully engaged in preparatory matches ahead of the WAFCON.

The tournament is set to be staged in Morocco in July 2025.

“I want to assure everyone that the Super Falcons will get the full attention and support of the NFF for the WAFCON in Morocco.

“We will ensure the team gets adequate preparation for the competition. We will utilize the 2025 FIFA International Women’s window by organizing Grade A friendly matches for the team,” Gusau promised.

The Falcons, once a dominant force in the WAFCON, had a disappointing outing in the last edition of the competition three years ago, finishing fourth after losing the third-place match to Zambia.

Gusau expressed confidence that the tide would change this time, emphasizing that all necessary efforts will be made to help the Falcons reclaim their dominance in the WAFCON.
