Kwara: Police begin investigations into murder of ex-federal Controller of Works

Operatives of the Kwara State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Bureau (SCIB) have launched a full investigation into the murder of a former Controller of Works at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Mr. AbdulRazaq Ajani.
Ajani was murdered at his residence on Dele Gege Street, Aderoju area, off Awolowo Road, Tanke, in Ilorin South Local Government Area, at about 3 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
It was alleged that the attackers had trailed Mr. Ajani from his hometown of Offa to Ilorin, where the crime occurred.
Sources revealed that Ajani had recently visited Offa in Offa Local Government Area to celebrate Christmas with his family. He later traveled to Ilorin for New Year’s celebrations but was tragically killed by his assailants in his home.
Family sources disclosed that the attackers were believed to be young men aged between 21 and 25.
Speaking to journalists in Ilorin, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, confirmed the incident.
She said: “Yes, the incident happened. I can confirm that a retired controller of works was killed in the Tanke area on Wednesday.”
Ejire-Adeyemi added, “The police have taken over the case and commenced investigations.”
When asked about arrests, the PPRO stated that no suspects had been apprehended yet, but investigations were ongoing.
