NGF congratulates Adeleke on re-election, wishes him successful second term

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election in the state governorship election held over the weekend.

The forum, in a congratulatory message, acknowledged Adeleke’s achievements and personal qualities, saying they contributed to his victory in the keenly contested election.

The message was contained in a statement signed by the NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Sunday.

The forum also commended the people of Osun State for their large turnout during the election, saying the interest generated by the off-cycle poll demonstrated the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy.

It further recognised the important role played by opposition parties in strengthening democratic governance and commended all the candidates who participated in the election for their efforts.

Similarly, the governors praised the security agencies for containing the violence recorded in the days leading up to the election and creating a secure environment for the poll to take place with minimal incidents.

The forum also acknowledged the role of President Bola Tinubu in balancing his responsibilities as leader of the ruling party and as president, describing his approach as statesmanlike.

The NGF expressed confidence that Adeleke would build on the achievements of his first term and wished him a successful second term in office in the overall interest of the people of Osun State.
