Nigerian Army announces 2-day weapons training in Ondo

- Urges residents not to panic

The 323 Artillery Regiment, Owena Cantonment, Akure, has announced plans to conduct a Range Classification Exercise from Monday, August 18, to Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
The exercise will take place daily between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Military Range in Ita-Ogbolu, Akure.
In a statement signed by Major Njoka Irabor, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 32 Artillery Brigade, the exercise was described as a routine military training designed to sharpen the weapon-handling skills and operational proficiency of officers and soldiers.
The residents of Ita-Ogbolu and surrounding communities have been advised not to panic at the movement of troops or the sound of gunfire during the exercise.
The Army also urged commuters and farmers to avoid the range area throughout the period for their safety.
The statement further appealed to community leaders and the public to help disseminate the information and translate it into local languages to ensure wider awareness.
The army reassured residents that the exercise is purely for training purposes and that all necessary safety measures have been put in place.
