Nigeria has made tremendous progress in 65 years – Tinubu

By Kunle Sanni –

President Bola Tinubu has said Nigeria has recorded remarkable achievements in economic growth, social cohesion, and physical development since gaining independence in 1960.

Speaking on Wednesday during his nationwide address to mark the country’s 65th Independence anniversary, the President noted that the nation’s journey has been shaped by both successes and challenges.

“For decades, the promise of our independence has been tested by profound social, economic, and political challenges, and we have survived. While we may not have achieved all the lofty dreams of our forebears, we have not strayed too far from them,” he said.

Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria’s economy has witnessed “significant growth since 1960,” despite setbacks along the way. He added that the country’s resilience continues to fuel hope for a brighter and more prosperous future.
