Nigerian Airports win top honours at ACI Africa awards
The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and Port Harcourt International Airport have been awarded top honors by the Airport Council International (ACI) Africa for excellence in airport emergency management and resilience.
The prestigious awards were presented during the 33rd Annual General Assembly of ACI Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa, where the two Nigerian airports were recognized for their exceptional commitment to maintaining safety standards and operational resilience.
The accolades were handed over by ACI Africa’s Secretary-General, Ali Tounsi, and President, Emmanuel Chaves, during a Gala Night event, as the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, was lauded for his leadership in guiding the sector to this achievement.
The awards serve as a testament to the efforts of the aviation workforce and stakeholders who have prioritized emergency preparedness and operational efficiency, ensuring safer and more reliable air travel for passengers.
