Nigerian artisans endorse Tinubu for second term

Artisans and technicians from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, under the Association of Nigerian Artisans and Technicians, have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
The association announced the endorsement in Abuja during the second Nigerian Artisans’ Leadership Summit 2026, citing the administration’s policies and programmes aimed at creating economic opportunities for its members.
Speaking at the summit, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, represented by former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Senator Tijani Kaura, urged ASNAT members to remain united in their support for the administration.
Yari also emphasised the important role of artisans and technicians in national development, while the Director-General of the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations and National Patron of ASNAT, Rt. Hon. Sanusi Rikiji, formally announced the association’s support for Tinubu’s re-election.
Rikiji said several programmes under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda were designed to expand economic opportunities for artisans and other professionals, adding that some members of the association’s 12.5 million registered members had benefited from government initiatives.
He also described Tinubu as a nationalist committed to national reforms and said future generations would celebrate his administration for remaining committed to reforms despite difficult circumstances.
Similarly, the National Coordinator of ASNAT, Comrade Adeshina Akinyemi, commended the administration’s policies and programmes and pledged the association’s continued cooperation with relevant stakeholders to improve the welfare and economic well-being of its members.
Meanwhile, artisans and technicians at the summit commended Tinubu for what they described as his empowerment efforts and pledged to mobilise support for his re-election. The three-day summit brought together government officials, heads of 29 affiliated associations from across the states and FCT, members of the Diplomatic Corps, private-sector partners and development agencies.
