Nigerian boxer dies during Ghana boxing contest
Former West African and National light-heavyweight champion Segun “Success” Olanrewaju passed away on Saturday after passing out during a boxing contest in Ghana.
On Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League at Bukom Boxing Arena, Olanrewaju passed out while battling Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu.
According to available information, he was apparently ahead of schedule prior to the terrible event. A social media video showed him collapse during the fight.
His unexpected demise has left the boxing community in mourning. Formerly a National and West African light-heavyweight champion, Olanrewaju is a well-known personality in Nigerian boxing.
