Nigerian music stars need to support Nollywood, says KCee

Nigerian singer and entertainer, KCee, has urged fellow music stars to give more support to Nollywood.

In a recent interview, KCee encouraged his colleagues to use their star power to collaborate more with the film industry, saying he contributes by watching Nigerian films and allowing his songs to be used in movies.

In his words, “I think it is high time we support the movie industry. For me, KCee, those who know me know that I do not watch any other movies apart from Nollywood. I am so into Nollywood movies. Sometimes, a lot of people laugh at me.

“Also, I remember a lady recently reached out to me because she wanted to use my song, ‘Cultural Praise’, in her movie and was asking how much it would cost. I permitted her to use it for free. She can testify. That is support.

“We always want to have movie stars in our music videos. Some musicians have also appeared in their movies, but I think we can do more. We need to support them a lot more.

“We can even promote their movies on our social media handles. Currently, I am also not doing that, but we need to. Randomly, you see them jumping on our projects, and I think it would not be a crime if we do the same.”
