Nigeria’s problems may worsen without national prayer, cleric tells Tinubu

The Founder and General Overseer of God’s Anointed and Blessed Church International, Akure, Pastor Toye Ebijomore, has urged President Bola Tinubu to convene a national prayer, warning that Nigeria’s challenges could deepen if the call is ignored.

Ebijomore made the appeal during a press conference in Akure, Ondo State, saying the country urgently needs divine intervention to overcome its economic and security difficulties.

The cleric disclosed that he had written at least seven letters to the Presidency, conveying what he described as divine messages on the need for a national prayer, but had yet to receive a response.

He appealed to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to use her influence to prevail on the President, noting that her participation in the United States National Prayer Breakfast demonstrated the value of such spiritual gatherings.

Ebijomore argued that if the United States could organise national prayers and record positive outcomes, Nigeria should not hesitate to do the same in its quest for national renewal.

He said the message was specifically meant for President Tinubu, whom he believes God has chosen to lead the country through a turning point.

The cleric claimed that Nigeria was destined for greatness beginning this year, adding that within six years, the country would witness visible transformation recognised globally.

He added that a national prayer would end insecurity, hunger, and hardship, ushering in development and lasting peace, and that President Tinubu would be remembered as the leader who restructured and restored Nigeria, with his name “written in gold.”
