The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has confirmed that no student lost their life in a conflict between two rival groups at the institution on Tuesday.
In a statement made available to the press on Wednesday, the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Abiodun Oloyede, said two students who sustained minor injuries have been discharged after receiving treatment at the school’s clinic.
Oloyede reassured the parents and guardians of students at the institution, emphasizing that the campus is calm, with normal administrative and academic activities ongoing.
He also stated that students are continuing with their lectures and other academic engagements while staff members are carrying out their administrative duties.
The Registrar further noted that the Anti-Cultism Squad of the Nigeria Police and other security operatives are fully present on campus to prevent any potential crisis.
Oloyede urged parents and guardians not to entertain any fears, stating that there is no cause for alarm.
