NOA Boss urges Nigerians to engage in acts rooted in patriotism

..As LAUTECH wins N20m NOA campus debate

Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu, has called on Nigerians to engage in acts rooted in discipline, patriotism and integrity, and use their voices to champion national values.
Issa-Onilu said that youths should express dissent peacefully, be solution-driven, see governance as a collaborative effort and embrace roles as drivers of national development
He made these remarks on Tuesday in Lagos at the campus debate and Capacity Building Conference organised by the National Orientation Agency.
The NOA Boss said the debate was aimed at promoting healthy dialogue and the recognition that constructive criticism is not rebellion once grounded in love and building trust.
He promised that more universities would participate next year.
Meanwhile, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State won the 2024 campus debate defeating five institutions to win the N20million grand prize while Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and University of Ilorin emerged first and second runners-up respectively.
Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt; Gombe State Polytechnic, Bajoga; Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu occupied the fourth, fifth and sixth positions respectively.
Courtesy of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, LAUTECH also received an additional N1million.
