Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri opens up on secret behind long-lasting marriage

Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has shared the secret behind his decades-long marriage, revealing that infidelity did not stop his wife, Sadiat Adenike, from loving him and making sacrifices for his career.

The filmmaker made the disclosure during an interview on the African A-List podcast, posted on Facebook on Friday. He revealed that Adenike was aware of his extramarital affairs with female colleagues in the industry but did not flinch.

Quadri explained that some of his mistresses eventually became friends with his wife, while others approached Adenike themselves to tell her about his alleged relationships with other actresses in the entertainment industry.

In his words, “I won’t mention some of the ladies in the industry. They would become friends with my wife and tell her I was dating someone. Some of them were women I was actually dating, but they went to her out of jealousy. She wouldn’t fight. She fed them”.

According to him, many of the women were surprised when his wife revealed that she already knew the people they were talking about after listening to their gossip. He noted that some of his mistresses often became jealous, even though his wife never showed jealousy or confronted them.

Quadri also revealed that he occasionally accommodated female actresses who stayed overnight at his house when filming ended late. He said his wife still prepared meals for them and attended to their other needs despite being aware of his relationships with them.

Reflecting on his wife’s loyalty and sacrifices throughout their marriage, Quadri acknowledged her support as a key factor in his success.

Beyond his family life, the actor recalled abandoning his education to support his father’s thriving business long before achieving stardom. He said he kept his passion for acting hidden from his father, who regarded actors as beggars. He later sold an unfinished house to fund a film project.
