Sanwo-Olu receives Governor of the Year Award at civil society summit

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has received the Governor of the Year Award from the National Leadership of Accredited Civil Society Organisations and the Civil Society Organisation on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative (CSCHEI) at the National Civil Society Summit in Abuja.

The development was announced via the Governor’s official Facebook page. According to the organisers, the award recognises the state government’s efforts in infrastructure development, education and healthcare.

Although members of his team received the award on his behalf, Sanwo-Olu dedicated the recognition to residents of Lagos State, describing it as an encouragement to sustain efforts towards improving their welfare.

He said the recognition would strengthen his administration’s resolve to listen to residents, remain accountable and create more opportunities for people across the state.

As disclosed, the organisers highlighted some of the administration’s infrastructure projects, including the Lagos Blue Line rail system, the development of a new regional school cluster and the ongoing construction of what was described as “West Africa’s largest children’s hospital.”

The Blue Line rail system is part of the state’s efforts to expand public transportation, while investments in school infrastructure and healthcare facilities are aimed at improving access to essential services.

Sanwo-Olu said his administration would continue to prioritise projects and policies designed to improve living standards and deliver tangible benefits to residents.

He thanked Lagos residents for their continued trust and partnership, pledging to sustain efforts towards building a state that offers greater opportunities and a better quality of life for all.
