Nollywood actress Wunmi Toriola has criticised vendors for displaying nudity while selling commodities online, sparking reactions among netizens.
The thespian took to her Instagram page on Tuesday, sharing her thoughts on how some vendors promote their products on social media. She described the method as an “extreme” approach, which some pant sellers now use just to attract buyers.
According to her, while it is understandable that people are hustling, she said the level of exposure used in marketing products has become alarming.
She further questioned whether the products being sold justify such tactics, rhetorically asking if a single item now costs as much as a million naira.
“No shade to anyone please, hustle is hustle, but the way some pant sellers go naked to sell pants, please is one pant 5 million naira? Because I no longer understand, nakedness left and right,” she wrote.
Wunmi’s submission has continued to generate reactions online, with some users agreeing with her concerns while others defend it as aggressive marketing driven by the need to make sales.
