Nollywood bids Okemesi farewell during interment

Late Nollywood actor, Bamidele Oluwatope Saint, popularly known as Okemesi, has been laid to rest at a cemetery in Ayobo on Friday, as family members, well-wishers and industry colleagues bade him farewell.

News of the actor’s demise was announced on February 24, 2026, by fellow actor Jeff Owolewa, who had supported Temitope before his death. The announcement was made via Jeff’s Facebook page on behalf of the family.

Prior to his passing, the actor had been battling a prolonged illness, which led him to seek public assistance through Jeff.

During this period, funds were raised publicly for the late actor’s healthcare, housing and the purchase of a phone to help him reconnect with business partners and support his skit-making business.

Shortly after the funds were raised, Jeff announced that the actor required additional financial support due to the critical state of his health, which resulted in his hospital admission. However, Temitope eventually succumbed to his illness while receiving treatment.

Jeff later announced the burial arrangements on behalf of the family, including the interment, which was held on Friday.
