Popular Nollywood filmmaker Jaiye Kuti has presented an award of honour to her late friend, Henrietta Kosoko, in recognition of the actress’ performance in her movie, “Jaiyeola Monje”.
The filmmaker presented the award to Henrietta’s daughter, Temilade Kosoko, in the presence of other family members during the premiere of her movie in Lagos on Wednesday.
While presenting the award, Jaiye recalled the notable role Henrietta played in the initial series of her movie, “Jaiyeola Monje”, noting that she would have featured in the latest sequel, “Jaiyeola Monje: The Anniversary”.
She explained that she wanted to feel the late actress’ presence at the premiere of the latest sequel, which informed her decision to invite members of her family and honour her in their presence.
Receiving the award, Temilade expressed gratitude for the honour bestowed on her mother. She noted that the recognition, coming a decade after her mother’s death, showed that her legacy continues to live on.
Other family members present at the event included Prince Jide Kosoko, husband of the deceased, and their daughters, Sola Kosoko and Bidemi Kosoko.
