North Central APC launches mobilisation for Tinubu, plans Lafia rally

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North Central has launched a grassroots mobilisation movement to coordinate support for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Movement for Tinubu/Shettima 2027 was inaugurated on Friday at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, in Abuja.
Akume, who commended the National Coordinator of the movement, Sonny Echono, said the region had set an ambitious target ahead of the election.
He said the North Central had the “overriding objective” of delivering the highest regional vote total for Tinubu in 2027.
Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule described the initiative as timely, saying the political strength of the region had increased significantly since the 2023 election.
Sule said the North Central would use the platform to take the APC’s message to the grassroots and mobilise support for the President and other candidates of the party.
He said, “The challenges ahead of the 2027 election are gradually receding,” while expressing confidence that the region would deliver the highest number of votes for Tinubu.
Sule also pointed to the political influence of the region, noting that it currently produced the SGF, the APC National Chairman and several other key political appointees.
