NPFL to honour coach Ogunmodede, Anas Yusuf in Abuja September 2

By Tosin Omojola –
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will on Tuesday, September 2, honour Nasarawa United striker Anas Yusuf and Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede for their exemplary performances in the 2024/25 season.
This was confirmed by NPFL Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, who explained that the award ceremony and reception were delayed due to the duo’s engagement with the Super Eagles B team in preparations and participation at the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Elegbeleye noted that the recognition is in line with the board’s policy of promoting and rewarding excellence in the Nigerian topflight.
“It has been our policy to encourage players, coaches, and clubs to elevate the quality of league football through outstanding performances.
“We have consistently rewarded our best clubs, highest goal scorers, and best-performing coaches in conjunction with our investment partner, GTI Assets Management,” Elegbeleye said.
Anas Yusuf scored 17 goals to emerge as the league’s top scorer, while Coach Ogunmodede led Remo Stars to their first-ever league title in the club’s history.
Elegbeleye, a former Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, revealed that each award winner will receive ₦1.5 million and a commemorative plaque.
