Tinubu reforms driving economic stability, investment in Nigeria — Uba Sani

By Kunle Sanni –

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing reforms that have stabilized Nigeria’s economy, restored investor confidence, and opened new opportunities for international partnerships.

Speaking in an interview with TVC News while assessing the gains of Tinubu’s official visit to Brazil, Governor Sani — who was part of the presidential delegation — said the trip reflects growing global recognition of Nigeria’s economic potential.

“When President Tinubu assumed office, many global investors were reluctant to do business in Nigeria. His decisive reforms have changed that, creating openings not only for Nigerian entrepreneurs but also for foreign investors,” Sani said.

He cited the president’s decision to clear a $7 billion backlog in foreign exchange obligations as a turning point, describing it as a strong signal of Nigeria’s financial credibility. “That single move reassured international investors that Nigeria is serious about honoring its commitments,” the governor explained.

Highlighting the strategic outcomes of the Brazil visit, Sani noted that discussions with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva focused on agriculture, renewable energy, skills development, and aviation investment. “President Tinubu has built an important partnership with Brazil founded on mutual respect and real opportunities that will begin to bear fruit soon,” he said.

On domestic reforms, Sani reaffirmed Kaduna State’s drive to lead in agriculture and livestock development. He disclosed that his administration had increased the agriculture budget from 0.9 percent to 12 percent to align with the Malabo Declaration targets. “Our goal is to transform agriculture to create jobs, fight poverty, and raise productivity,” he added.

Governor Sani expressed optimism that Tinubu’s economic stabilization policies, coupled with high-level international cooperation, will fast-track Nigeria’s growth across key sectors.
