The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ondo State has decorated 110 officers, including its spokesperson, Daniel Aidamenbor, following their promotion.
Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, the NSCDC State Commandant, officiated at the ceremony in Akure on Friday, describing the elevation as a reward for hard work and dedication.
He thanked the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for approving the promotions and noted that many of the officers had been awaiting advancement prior to the minister’s tenure.
Ibiloye said the promotions were based not only on seniority but also on the officers’ contributions to the growth and efficiency of the corps.
“Promotion is a reward for hard work, but it also comes with increased responsibilities. Officers must now work harder to protect lives and property and meet public expectations,” he stated.
The commandant commended the personnel for their professionalism and urged residents and other security agencies to collaborate in maintaining safety and order.
Among the promoted officers, Mrs Folashade Olakanse, now Deputy Commandant of Corps, pledged to serve diligently and uphold the corps’ standards and mandate.
Mr Aidamenbor, elevated to Superintendent of Corps, said he would use his new role to strengthen community policing and safeguard critical infrastructure, stressing that each rank carries unique responsibilities.
