Oyebanji inaugurates Ikere monarch, Ogoga as Chairman of Ekiti traditional rulers’ council

The Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty Oba Adu Adejimi Alagbado, has been inaugurated as the 13th Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, who congratulated Oba Alagbado and praised his leadership qualities, describing him as a monarch committed to peace, unity, and the overall development of Ekiti State.

Governor Oyebanji expressed confidence that the Ogoga would provide purposeful leadership and promote harmony among traditional rulers across the state during his tenure.

The reconstituted council is made up of 86 traditional rulers, including 66 permanent members and 20 rotational members, drawn from various communities in the state. The council will serve for two years and is tasked with advising on chieftaincy matters, customary law, and other development-related issues.

The governor also commended the immediate past chairman of the council, the Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, for his exceptional leadership and service to the state.

He called on the traditional rulers to rally behind the new chairman in unity, mutual respect, and collective effort toward the progress of Ekiti communities.

Governor Oyebanji reaffirmed his administration’s continued support for the traditional institution, pledging to enhance their welfare and partnership in community development.

He also formally informed the royal fathers of his intention to seek a second term in office, promising to build on the successes achieved during his first tenure and deepen the state’s development strides.
