The Obi of Onitsha, Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, has congratulated the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Stanel Group and The Delborough Lagos, Stanley Uzochukwu, over his successful completion of executive leadership programmes at the University of Oxford and the Harvard Kennedy School.

Uzochukwu recently completed a High Performance Leadership programme at Oxford University, months after undergoing multiple executive courses at Harvard Kennedy School in the United States.

The businessman, who also completed a Master of Business Administration at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Business School in 2025, participated in programmes including Emerging Leaders, Leadership Decision Making, Leading Successful Programs using Evidence, and Strategic Leadership for Personal Effectiveness.

In a telephone conversation on Monday, Achebe, who is the Board Chairman of The Delborough Lagos, praised Uzochukwu for his commitment to personal development despite his demanding business schedule.

The monarch urged the Stanel Group founder to apply the knowledge acquired from the international programmes towards the expansion of The Delborough brand, especially with plans underway for the Abuja branch.

“Congratulations, my son, and welcome back from Oxford. We are waiting for the deployment of the newly acquired knowledge and its gains to the growth and expansion of The Delborough Lagos brand,” the monarch said.

Founded in 2012, Stanel Group has grown into a diversified Nigerian conglomerate with investments spanning energy, hospitality and retail, while The Delborough Lagos has emerged as one of the country’s leading luxury hotels, hosting global dignitaries including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Beyond business, Uzochukwu serves as Chairman of the UNIZIK Advancement Board, a Governing Council member of Igbinedion University and a board member of UNIZIK Business School. Through the Stanley Uzochukwu Foundation, he also supports scholarships, youth empowerment and community development initiatives across Africa.
