Odumosu denies appointment as new EFCC boss

Former Lagos State Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu has denied news making the rounds about his appointment as the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

There had been reports that Odumosu was appointed by President Bola Tinubu to replace Abdulrasheed Bawa who was suspended last week.

But in a message on Wednesday morning which was made available to WesternPost, Odumosu described the news as “totally untrue”, describing it as the work of “mischief makers”.

“Good Morning everyone, I have been inundated with so many calls and messages between yesterday and today on a purported ‘EFCC Appointment’. I just want to use this opportunity to debunk this information and say it’s totally untrue.

“This information must have emanated from Mischief Makers and should be totally disregarded,” Odumosu said.
