The Chief Imam of Offa, Kwara State Sheikh Muyideen Hussein, has said that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s philanthropy and commitment to the development of Offa have earned him the admiration and continued support of the community.
Hussein described the governor’s record of service and impactful projects in Offa as key reasons for the community’s enduring support for his administration, adding that AbdulRazaq remained a source of pride to the people.
The Islamic cleric spoke on Saturday during the annual Maolud Nabiy celebration organised by his Arabic institution, which the governor attended.
He specifically appreciated AbdulRazaq for his numerous contributions to his personal welfare, the development of his institution and the activities of the entire Addabiyah movement.
The governor had earlier donated ₦50 million to support the construction of a hospital project initiated by the cleric. He also awarded scholarships of ₦200,000 each to 50 students of the institution, bringing the total scholarship support to ₦10 million.
Welcoming the governor to the event, Hussein described Offa as AbdulRazaq’s second home and expressed the community’s delight at his presence.
“I am welcoming your excellency to Offa, your second home. We are pleased to receive you today. We welcome you because you are a true philanthropist and a blessing to the Offa community,” the cleric said.
Earlier, the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau, expressed gratitude to the governor for his donations and other forms of support for the chief imam and the people of Offa. The monarch said he was pleased that AbdulRazaq personally attended the celebration, describing his presence as a great honour, and prayed for the governor’s success in office and his political ambition.
