Ogun State government has given approval of 36 hectares of land to seven communities for resettlement within Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC) Estate in Agbara/Igbesa.
The communities are; Iperin, Idoluba, Idoluboti, Titito, Adedigba, Idashe and Iludofin.
Speaking at the handing over of Ifekowajo resettlement scheme survey plan to the benefiting communities in Abeokuta, Special Adviser and Managing Director, OPIC, Mr. Abiodun Fari-Arole said the purpose of the approval would prevent further encroachment by land grabbers known as ‘Omo onile’ on state government land as well as preserving government assets.
Fari-Arole stated that it would also generate more revenue into government coffers through land ratification, land use, neighbourhood service charges, building plan approval, perfection of tittle documents among others by intending buyers in the settlement.
He enjoined members of the communities to ensure peaceful co-existence with one another.
In his remark, Olodan of Odan Abuja Sule, Oba Tesilimi Ayinla said the people of the area would continue to support the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, promising to be in unity.
Speaking on behalf of representatives of the benefiting communities, the Chairman Expansion Committee, Mr. Saheed Badmus appreciated the governor for the gesture and the ongoing road construction in the area.
