Ogun Assembly begins 2023 budget performance appraisal for third quarter Monday

The Ogun state House of Assembly would begin its 2023 budget performance appraisal for the 3rd quater of the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government on Monday.
A statement released by the Clerk of the Assembly, Mr. Deji Adeyemo, also disclosed that the House would appraise budget performance of the local government councils too.
The Clerk said exercise is to ascertain the agencies level of compliance with the 2023 Appropriation Act.
He added ” The exercise is part of the oversight functions of the legislative arm of Government in promoting accountability, transparency with regards to value for government resources in consonance with sections 128 and 129 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended)”.
According to the release, the budget performance assessment, would commence at 10:00am daily and end on Monday, 30th of October, 2023.
The Clerk enjoined all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government as well as Local Government Councils to make available relevant documents and information to ensure the success of the exercise.
