Ogun NDLEA arrests 675 drug offenders, seizes 9.7 tons of drugs, secures 221 convictions in 2024

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ogun State Command has announced the arrest of 675 drug offenders and the seizure of 9.7 tons of drugs including 537.81 liters of liquid-based hard illicit drugs in 2024.

This was disclosed by the State’s NDLEA Commander, Tijjani Rabe, at a press briefing in Abeokuta.

Rabe, who noted that all illicit drugs in the state have been taken out of circulation said cannabis sativa, also known as India hemp, ranked top in the seizures.

The NDLEA commander said his command achieved a total of 221 convictions in the year 2024 ranking one of the highest amongst all commands of the NDLEA formations across the country.

Tijjani used the meeting to acknowledge the efforts of his team, security agencies, and the public for the successful operations.
