Olaoluwa has capacity to drive Diaspora Centre, says Dabiri-Erewa

Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed satisfaction on the appointment of Prof. Senayon Olaoluwa as the First Director General of the newly created Diaspora Centre of Excellence.
Olaoluwa’s appointment took effect from March 1, 2024 and it is for three years.
The TETFUND funded centre is an initiative of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, in collaboration with the University of Ibadan.
In the congratulatory letter personally signed by her, She commended the efforts of the renowned Professor of Diaspora, adding that he possesses the competence and capability to drive the goals and aspiration of the Centre to its fullest maximisation and to the benefits of mankind.
Dabiri-Erewa implored Prof. Olaoluwa to urgently bring to bear the gains of citing the Centre in University of Ibadan.
The Professor of Diaspora studies was the founding Coordinator of the Diaspora and Trans-national Studies programme at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan where he was the former Director.
Olaoluwa has worked assiduously to develop the graduate programme into an enviable level through the encouragement of cutting edge research by faculty and students.
The construction of the centre would commence soon with the release of One billion naira to the University by TETFUND.
