Olubadan-designate Ladoja cautions monarchs against land grabbing, indiscipline

The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has cautioned traditional rulers in Ibadanland against involvement in land grabbing, indiscipline, and actions that could tarnish the image of the Olubadan institution and the Ibadan Advisory Council.
Speaking through the Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Amidu Salawudeen Ajibade, during a meeting with royal fathers at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ladoja emphasized the importance of discipline, dignity, and integrity among traditional leaders.
He warned that any monarch found aiding or engaging in land grabbing or other criminal acts would face severe sanctions. “You must understand that wherever you are, you represent the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the Advisory Council, and Ibadanland at large,” he said.
Oba Ladoja also urged traditional rulers to monitor the conduct of Mogajis and Baales under their authority, warning that no subordinate should be allowed to bring dishonor to the heritage of Ibadanland.
He appealed to all sons, daughters, and residents of the ancient city to continue to offer prayers for peace, unity, and the development of Ibadan.
Earlier in the meeting, the Alakinyele of Akinyele, Oba James Oluyemi Odeniran, who led the delegation of traditional rulers, said their visit was to condole with the palace over the passing of the late Olubadan, Oba Olakulehin.
He added that the royal fathers had come to affirm their loyalty and support to the incoming Olubadan, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, as the city prepares for a smooth transition.
The meeting ended with renewed calls for collective responsibility among traditional rulers to preserve the dignity and unity of Ibadanland.
