Oluremi Tinubu urges girls to dream big as RHI records 27,345 beneficiaries in FCT

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, has urged girls and young women to dream big and pursue their ambitions with discipline and determination, saying vision and preparation are essential for success.
She spoke on Tuesday in Abuja during an event marking three years of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where the programme’s impact on communities across the territory was highlighted.
Addressing young people, particularly girls, the First Lady said having a clear sense of purpose was critical to achieving personal and professional goals.

“Dreaming is what keeps any human being going. If you sit and don’t have a dream, a vision of what you want to become, it becomes very tough for you,” she said.
Tinubu said the Dream Girls initiative under the FCT chapter of RHI was designed to help girls build confidence, ambition and character. She also stressed the importance of etiquette and protocol, noting that such skills could prove valuable in public life.
Reflecting on the achievements of the initiative over the past three years, the First Lady said RHI was established to complement President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by improving livelihoods and supporting vulnerable groups through people-centred programmes.
According to her, the initiative began operations shortly after its inaugural meeting on July 7, 2023, with its first intervention coming days later when it provided support to victims of flooding at Trademoore Estate in Lugbe, Abuja.

She said the organisation, officially registered on August 9, 2023, had since implemented programmes targeting women, youths, children, veterans, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups through grants, skills acquisition, scholarships, health interventions and emergency assistance.
