The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, on Tuesday reaffirmed his dedication to a pure and unadulterated form of monarchy.
The Oluwo made this commitment while receiving the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Olawale David Oyebola, at his palace in Iwo, Osun State.
During the meeting, the Oluwo reiterated his stance as an unwavering promoter of monarchical governance devoid of idolatry and deity worship.
Describing monarchs as fathers of the nation, he urged traditional rulers to be exemplary leaders by guiding their subjects directly to Olodumare (God).

In his remarks, the Aseyin—who was accompanied by his chiefs and princes—explained that the visit was in appreciation of the Oluwo’s attendance at his coronation ceremony held in Iseyin, Oyo State, in 2024.
He also emphasized the importance of fostering unity among traditional rulers across Yorubaland.
Several monarchs and dignitaries from Iwoland joined the Oluwo to receive the Aseyin, including the Agbodowu of Foritaje, HRM Oba Amoo Oyeniyi Adegboyega; the Olu of Akinleye, HRM Oba Abiodun Taofeeq Rafiu; and the Alawuje of Awuje, HRM Oba Hazmat Mikail Abiodun, alongside other princes and chiefs.
