Governor Okpebholo vows prudent use of FAAC allocation

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the transparent and effective use of funds allocated to the state through the Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), pledging that public resources will be channelled solely toward developmental projects that benefit the people.
Governor Okpebholo gave this assurance while inspecting ongoing infrastructure projects across the state. He stated that under his leadership, Edo State’s share of FAAC will be managed responsibly and solely for the improvement of residents’ quality of life.
“Edo State gets its allocation from FAAC, and that money under my watch will be utilised effectively and efficiently,” the governor said. “We assure that Edo money will be used to work for Edo people. My administration will never divert Edo people’s money.”
As part of the inspection, Governor Okpebholo issued a stern directive to contractors handling various projects to adhere strictly to approved specifications and ensure the delivery of quality work. He emphasized that his administration would not compromise on standards and would continue to prioritize people-oriented initiatives.
Highlighting ongoing efforts, the governor noted the completion of the Upper Ekenhuan Road up to the Nigerian Army Cantonment and revealed plans to extend the project to the Igo community in Ovia North East Local Government Area.
“Do you remember this road? The first day we passed here, people came out to complain about its terrible state,” he recalled. “We have awarded this portion of the road. You will see contractors here soon. We have completed the sections leading up to this point.”
Governor Okpebholo also reiterated his administration’s alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the state government is focused on delivering tangible development to Edo residents.
“We are here to work for the people, and in the next few days, work will commence here,” he assured.
