Toluwanisings’ PA recounts singer’s final moments as family debunks fundraising claims

The personal assistant to gospel minister Toluwanisings, Babadunni Gbolabo, has recounted the singer’s final moments, revealing that several hospitals reportedly turned him away as efforts were made to save his life after he collapsed.
Gbolabo, who spoke in an interview with BBC Yoruba on Thursday, claimed that several hospitals in Ibadan, Oyo State, rejected the singer after he suddenly slumped at his residence on Wednesday.
He disclosed that he was not present when the incident occurred, but people around the singer made frantic efforts to resuscitate him. One of the hospitals reportedly cited the unavailability of doctors due to an ongoing strike.
“He was very fine and in perfect condition. He just slumped. He was rushed to different hospitals in Ibadan but was rejected. One of the hospitals said their doctors were on strike. We took him to quite a few hospitals in Ibadan but God said it was his time. We prayed and prayed but God said it was his time,” Gbolabo recounted.
The singer had performed at Bidemi Olaoba’s worship concert less than 24 hours before his death, fuelling speculation that he had been in good health before his death.
Meanwhile, members of the late singer’s family have debunked reports of a fundraising campaign for Toluwanisings’ wife and children, describing the claims as fake.
The family made the announcement through the singer’s Instagram page, sharing a circulating flier featuring his photograph. The flier, initially shared by a social media user, Dami Tolaoluwa, in collaboration with the Tolaoluwa Foundation, urged the public to contribute towards supporting the late singer’s wife and children.
Toluwanisings’ family urged the public to report the page en masse, noting that any legitimate fundraising initiative, if necessary, would be communicated through the singer’s official page.
