The Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced consultations with traditional rulers in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general election, visiting the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I.
The delegation, led by the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, visited the monarchs on Thursday as part of its engagement with traditional institutions ahead of the presidential campaign.

The team comprised five former governors, lawmakers, ministers and other APC leaders.
During the visit, the Olubadan expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, declaring that the president would receive massive votes while offering prayers for a successful election.
The delegation also visited the Alaafin of Oyo, who similarly expressed support for the president and thanked the Federal Government for recent approvals.
The royal engagement provided an opportunity for the campaign council to discuss the administration’s activities and seek the support of traditional institutions as the APC prepares for the 2027 presidential election.
Senator Yari, while addressing the monarchs, highlighted what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration, including its policies and development initiatives.
He said the APC would base its campaign on the president’s record in office, adding that the council intended to present the administration’s performance to Nigerians as the central message of its re-election campaign. Yari had earlier stated that the campaign would focus on the government’s achievements and future plans as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 election.
