The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Uhunmwode Local Government Area branch, has honoured the General Manager of the Edo State Community and Social Development Agency (Edo-CSDA), Ivie Charles Idahosa, for her contributions to community empowerment and youth development.

The award was presented during a courtesy visit by a delegation led by the council’s coordinator, Bright Ehigiator Enowan, to the agency’s office in Benin City.

Idahosa described the recognition as an encouragement to deepen her commitment to grassroots development, stressing the important role of young people in building stronger communities.

She urged youths to participate peacefully and responsibly in forthcoming elections, emphasising the importance of civic responsibility and informed engagement in the democratic process.

The Edo-CSDA boss also called on young people to become active partners in development initiatives rather than remain mere beneficiaries of government programmes.

She said constructive youth participation would help attract more development interventions to Uhunmwode and other communities.

Enowan said the council honoured Idahosa, an indigene of Uhunmwode, in recognition of her leadership, contributions to community development and support for initiatives aimed at creating opportunities for young people.
