The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has officially unveiled the TELU Football Team, which is set to participate in the 2025 Nationwide League One (NLO).
Oba Akanbi, who has served as the Grand Patron of the club for several years, commended the team’s promoter, Engr. Taoheed Alamu, for his dedication and commitment. He reaffirmed his unwavering support and offered royal blessings to the team, wishing them a victorious outing.
Describing the team as the sporting face of Iwoland, the monarch announced TELU FC’s transition into a fully recognized NLO One team, officially registered under the Nigerian Nationwide League One. He emphasized that this move aims to encourage the discovery and promotion of football talent within Iwoland.
Oba Akanbi also called on sons and daughters of Iwoland to rally behind the club by providing both moral and financial support to the players and coaching staff.

In his remarks, Engr. Alamu expressed gratitude to the monarch for his consistent support, noting that the club presents an opportunity for the brightest football talents to rise from local recognition to international prominence.
According to Engr. Alamu, “TELU Football Club is a top-rated professional football club and academy based in Iwo, Osun State. It has now transitioned into a fully recognized NLO One team, registered under the Nigerian Nationwide League One structure, and will represent Iwoland on the national football stage during the 2025 season.
“TELU FC’s strength lies in its player development model, which combines high-level coaching by licensed professionals with a structured academic and religious support system. This allows players to grow holistically, access elite youth tournaments, and gain exposure to top-tier competition. The club is firmly committed to discipline, character building, and technical mastery of the modern game.”
He added that the club caters to talented young boys by offering year-round football training, conditioning, tactical drills, and mentorship. Beyond the pitch, players receive academic tutorials to prepare them for global success in both football and life.
