The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State has commended former Chairman and Oluyole Federal Constituency aspirant, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, for his loyalty, commitment and efforts to strengthen the party.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued in Ibadan on Saturday and signed by the Oluyole APC Chairman, Prince Dotun Oladipupo. The party said it was impressed by Olaosebikan’s continued mobilisation for the APC despite losing the party’s ticket to contest the House of Representatives seat.
According to the statement, Olaosebikan had demonstrated his political influence and acceptance across the constituency through his recent mobilisation activities. The party specifically praised him for attracting members of opposition parties, including the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), into the APC.
“As a party, we are highly impressed by the latest action of Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, who has successfully won over members of other parties, particularly APM and PDP, into the APC despite not being on the ballot himself,” Oladipupo said. He described the development as further evidence of Olaosebikan’s popularity and political strength in the constituency.
Oladipupo also commended Olaosebikan for accepting the party’s decision without rancour, describing his conduct as a demonstration of political maturity and loyalty. He noted that Olaosebikan had displayed similar commitment to the APC during previous election cycles, particularly in 2019 and 2023, adding that his support for the party would yield benefits in the future.
Meanwhile, the party welcomed the new members and assured them of full recognition within its fold. The latest defections reportedly began in Ward 9, where members of the APM and PDP joined the APC, with the apex leaders of both parties in the ward formally received on August 16, 2026, at the headquarters of Olaosebikan’s PBAT-KO Grassroots Movement in Olomi.
Reacting to the development, Olaosebikan said his political structure remained committed to increasing the number of votes President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would receive in Oluyole. “My plan to triple President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s votes in Oluyole is on course. With my people, we are working assiduously and deploying the best strategies to win more friends for him in Oluyole, across Oyo State, and throughout Nigeria,” he said.
Olaosebikan also expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and ability to transform Nigeria, citing his record as governor of Lagos State. He said Tinubu remained the strongest among the presidential contenders and deserved another opportunity to lead the country, adding that the President could hand over to a qualified successor in 2031 in the spirit of equity. He also referenced Tinubu’s succession in Lagos, noting that he handed over to Babatunde Raji Fashola after his tenure, and said Lagos had remained a model for development in Nigeria while the country was regaining its leadership position in Africa and beyond.
