Ondo APC chairman warns members against anti-party activities

The Ondo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Kolawole Babatunde, has warned party members against engaging in anti-party activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Babatunde said members whose actions weaken the party’s structure or undermine its candidates would face disciplinary measures in accordance with the APC constitution and other established regulations.

He issued the warning on Thursday at the party’s State Executive Committee meeting held at the APC secretariat in Akure, as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections.

The chairman said the party leadership had been engaging aggrieved members and aspirants to resolve differences, rebuild trust and strengthen unity within its ranks ahead of the polls.

He urged members to set aside their differences and work together for the success of the party, assuring them that loyal members would not be sidelined.

“We will not tolerate any act of indiscipline among party members who indulge in anti-party activities. Anyone found culpable will be dealt with accordingly in line with our party’s constitution,” he said.

Babatunde also urged APC members to support President Bola Tinubu and other candidates contesting the 2027 elections on the party’s platform, stressing that unity was essential to its preparations for the polls.

The warning comes amid efforts by the Ondo APC leadership to consolidate its ranks ahead of the elections. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had also recently urged party members to close ranks and support APC candidates while opposing anti-party activities in the state.
